The Metropolitan Church of Petra and Heronisos, 
based in the historical capital of the Prefecture of Lasithi, 
Neapolis, came from the recent union of the provinces of the 
abolished Bishopric of Jerusalem and Metropolis of Petra, 
dating back to 1900, except for the province of Biannou.
