Neapolis is a town and the seat of the municipal community and unity of Neapolis, 
in the peripheral unity of Lasithi, in eastern Crete, and is the historical seat 
of the municipality of Agios Nikolaos. 
According to the 2011 census it has 2,683 inhabitants. The place names, 
the buildings, the nature of the living and the lifeless people, 
they all conceal within them a story or rather many stories as much as the elements 
that make up the Upper Merabellos.
